* Job Description:

** The Microchip Wireless Solutions Group (WSG)  is seeking a Technical Staff Engineer Architect specializing in hardware for wireless technologies. You will architect and design next-generation ultra low power wireless hardware systems with a focus on analog RF design and signal processing. You will provide technical leadership, and guide development of high-performance, reliable solutions.

* Key Responsibilities:

*** Lead architecture and design of advanced wireless hardware systems, focusing on state-of-the-art ultra-low power RF solutions.
* Collaborate with cross-functional, global teams to translate requirements into robust hardware solutions.
* Mentor hardware engineers and foster technical excellence.
* Conduct design reviews and provide expert feedback on schematics and layouts.
* Troubleshoot and resolve complex hardware issues, including RF performance and system integration.
* Document architectural decisions and hardware specifications.
** Requirements/

Qualifications:

*** Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical Engineering or related field.
* 12+ years in hardware engineering, with 5+ years in architectural or technical leadership roles focused on wireless technologies.
* Proven experience with ultra low power wireless hardware (BLE, WiFi, IEEE 802.15.4, UWB, NFC).
* Strong proficiency in analog design using Cadence, RF design, PCB layout, hardware validation, and signal processing.
* Deep understanding of wireless protocols, standards, and compliance.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for working with international teams.
* ** Preferred

Skills:

*** Experience with antenna design, EMC/EMI mitigation, and wireless certification.
* Familiarity with optimal analog vs. digital hardware partitioning as well as hardware-software co-design
* Knowledge of digital signal processing (DSP) and its application in wireless systems.
* Good communication skills in writing and speaking English.
