Skilcraft - Experienced Aerospace Welders

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* Reading and understanding blueprints prior to starting a project

* Sourcing the materials to be used in the project

* Measuring and cutting materials to specifications

* Welding materials using the correct materials to join the metals together

* Checking finished work to make sure that it falls within the tolerances marked on the blueprints

* Able to pass various welding certification tests

* Works with conventional and precision measuring instruments

* Performs process inspection, certification, and documentation

* Maintains welding equipment through maintenance activities

Grinding and Finishing:

* Skilled at grinding

* Finishes product through us of various manual and power grinding tools

* Performs routine maintenance on grinding equipment

Preferred and Required

Qualification:

Education:

Preferred - High School / GED

Required - Completion of Vocational school / Machine Trade school welding

course

* Basic math ability and understanding of mechanical principles used in sheet

* Ability to use measuring instruments to produce parts within decimal

Physical Demands:

* Must be able to frequently stand up to two or three hours continuously

* Occasionally required to sit, walk, climb stairs, bend, and stoop

* Must be able to reach and grasp parts repeatedly throughout the day

* Lift 45lbs. minimum and up to 60lbs. by self and up to 120lbs. in a "buddy" lift

Specific Vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

Environment

Conditions:

* Aerospace fabrication shop conditions

* Welding environment requiring specific Person Protective Equipment (PPE)

* Exposure to dirt, dust, and noise and extremes of heat or cold

* Employees work in semi proximity with others
