Vaco, a national search firm, is representing a dynamic manufacturing company in their search for a Controller to join their Senior Leadership Team in Tolland County, Connecticut
. The client is a growing manufacturing company with strong growth potential. They seek a detail‑oriented and process‑driven financial leader who will ensure the accuracy of financial statements and compliance while providing essential business partnership to Commercial and Operational leaders.
The Role: This dual‑reporting position (CEO and parent company CFO) is responsible for financial statement accuracy, regulatory compliance, cost control implementation, and strategic financial planning within a manufacturing environment. You will oversee AR/AP, treasury activities, tax compliance, budgeting, and financial reporting while enhancing the business's financial health and profitability through decision support on product pricing and cost management.
Key Responsibilities- Own financial statements including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports
- Collaborate with production teams to monitor manufacturing costs, efficiency, and inventory valuation
- Analyze financial data to identify cost-saving opportunities and operational improvements
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections
- Monitor KPIs and provide recommendations to improve efficiency and profitability
- Partner with operations, engineering, and supply chain teams to track manufacturing costs, labor utilization, and material spending
- Evaluate capital expenditure requests, ROI analyses, and project cost tracking
- Support pricing analysis, cost modeling, and margin analysis for customer quotations and contracts
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and regulatory requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred)
- 5-10 years of experience in financial management, preferably in manufacturing or aerospace industrial environments
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting, inventory management, and financial reporting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; ERP systems experience (Visual preferred)
Determining compensation for this role depends on a wide array of factors including skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, and other business needs.
