Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department and monitor all established quality assurance standards. Responsibilities
Prepare bakery and deli items according to customer requests using proper equipment.Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials.Provide customers with fresh products in correct portions to prevent shrinkage.Recommend deli or bakery items to customers to meet their needs.Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to guidelines.Prepare foods following temperature logs and cooking instructions.Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients as per recipes using appropriate utensils and equipment.Package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise.Check product quality, review 'sell by' dates, and take appropriate actions.Properly use kitchen equipment including stove, scales, fryer, steamer, etc.Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.Report discrepancies in product ordering/shipping.Understand store layout to locate products for customers.Stay updated with current ads and promotions.Maintain knowledge of products and respond to customer questions and suggestions.Monitor inventory and stocking conditions, noting discrepancies.Ensure proper temperature maintenance in cases and coolers, keeping logs.Create a welcoming environment for customers.Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.Follow safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management.Inspect equipment regularly and report repairs needed.Report customer or employee accidents.Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.Manage conflicts in a reasonable and cooperative manner.Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.Follow directions and seek assistance when needed.Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.Qualifications
- Customer Service skills
- Effective communication skills
- Knowledge of basic math
- Ability to obtain a food handlers permit upon employment
