Project Estimator

This position combines sales and estimating responsibilities to drive client acquisition while accurately estimating project costs. The role is essential for ensuring that JDB Slopeworx maintains strong client relationships by submitting competitive bids that meet quality and financial targets.

Project Assessment:
Analyze project requirements, client needs, and site conditions to generate accurate, detailed project estimates.

Cost Calculation:
Calculate labor, equipment, and material costs based on project specifications, determining competitive pricing while ensuring profitability.

Bid Preparation:
Prepare and submit preliminary and final bids, including DISCLAIMERS, to clients on time, with clear breakdowns of project costs and timelines.

Budget Alignment:
Work closely with the finance team to align estimates with company financial goals, adjusting pricing as necessary to meet profitability targets.

5+ years of experience in excavation work, sales and estimating.

Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and labor costs.

Excellent sales and negotiation skills, with a proven track record of securing contracts.

Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction plans, and technical documents.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.

Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple bids and proposals simultaneously.

Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities and financial acumen.
