Senior Control Engineer

Siemens Smart Infrastructure are recruiting a Senior Control Engineer/Control Engineer with experience in the Electrical Power Transmission & Distribution industry to help us find solutions consolidating and enhancing the Nation’s electricity network for a smarter and brighter future tomorrow.

Based at Hebburn near Newcastle upon Tyne the successful candidate will be in a lead control engineer role with the responsibility for overseeing and delivering contracts using Siemens portfolio of control systems to ensure future sustainability of our industry customers.

Areas of Responsibility
  • Technically lead industry control solutions and support development of new colleagues.
  • Production/checking of functional design specifications
  • Develop and design control systems solutions.
  • Responsible for overseeing and delivering customer factory and site testing activities.
  • Ensure compliance with customer technical specifications on allocated projects.
  • Providing technical recommendations for the pre‑sale’s activities.
  • Responsible for technical issues/support on allocated projects
  • Attend internal and external design reviews providing technical guidance.
Required Skills and Experience
  • Experience with in control / automation background.
  • A minimum qualification of HNC/HND (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering and/or experience in the Electricity Transmission and Distribution Industry.
Desirable Skills
  • Experience in a similar role involving developing medium to large scale SCADA systems, control systems, automation systems and communication infrastructure.
  • Good understanding of the Circuit Diagrams / Wiring Diagrams and General Arrangement drawings on control and protection systems.
  • Desire to technically lead on allocated projects and develop engineers for the expanding team.

Please note the successful candidate will be required to obtain UK Government Security Check (SC) clearance.
