Overview
Medium Farm is seeking a full-time Harvest Manager to lead harvest operations for a small, diversified market farm in Healdsburg.
Start and TermStart:
March 30 (mid April at latest)
Term:
Full-time through Oct/early Nov (Part-time in Winter), with potential to become Full-time year-round
Pay: $20–$25/hr DOE, with biannual raises or added-responsibility increases
Responsibilities- Plan and run efficient harvests
- Wash, pack, and deliver produce; maintain harvest facilities
- Update weekly harvest lists
- Supervise and train 1–2 part-time workers
- Deliver orders to restaurant customers (Sonoma County & SF)
- Additional farm tasks may include crop planning, greenhouse work, seeding/transplanting, hand cultivation, compost, chicken care, and operating small machines (BCS, string trimmer)
Flexible hours; often independent work
Team-based work on harvest and delivery days
SF Deliveries:
Nov–June:
Thursdays, July–Oct:
Mondays & Thursdays
Valid driver’s license required
Qualifications- 2–5 years experience in agriculture, gardening, or landscaping preferred
- Efficient, detail-oriented, and self-motivated
- Comfortable working both independently and leading a small team
- Strong communication skills and good humor
- Lift up to 50 lbs; repetitive carrying, bending, kneeling
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather (35–95°F)
- Able to manage personal safety and self-care in outdoor work
- On-farm access to the Russian River
- Fresh eggs, vegetables, flowers, herbs, and fruit
- Flexible scheduling
- Possible space with hookups for RV/camper van on farm property
Medium Farm is a 1+ acre, pesticide- and herbicide-free farm growing specialty produce for restaurants using a mix of intensive market gardening, low-till and Bob Cannard’s “Green String” philosophy (50% for people, 50% for nature).
