Job Description

ADM is seeking candidates for the position of a Maintenance Mechanic at our peanut shelling plant in Headland, AL. Normal work hours are Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with an unpaid lunch.

Duty includes maintaining all equipment to required standards and providing support for preventive and failure-based maintenance. Must be willing to take after-hours call-ins on evenings and weekends and respond to the facility as needed.

• Troubleshooting mechanical failures
• Repairing, rebuilding and maintaining equipment
• Demonstrating a strong team member attitude while being able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Recommending changes, modifications or upgrades of equipment to improve machine reliability and performance
• Reading equipment drawings and documentation
• Documenting work, modifications to equipment, etc.
• All other duties as required

• Minimum
  
  Education Required:
  
  High School/GED
• Experience: At least five (5) years of mechanical experience
• Experience with coupling and coupling alignments, conveyors, safe rigging practices, hydraulics, cutting, grinding, and welding
• Familiar with repair and maintenance of all processing equipment in the plant (conveying systems, gearboxes, power transmission)
• Strong oral and written communication skills; able to use independent judgment to solve problems
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks; strive for continuous improvement
• Proven experience with high-speed production
• Detail oriented with good verbal and written skills
• Familiar with standardized industrial procedures, practices and concepts

• History of working safely and promoting safety improvements
• Willing to work overtime, call-ins, weekends and holidays
• Regular, prompt attendance; ability to climb stairs, lift 55 pounds, sit and stand for long periods
• Ability to work in a plant environment with varied conditions (hot, cold, dusty) and in confined spaces or at heights
• Compliance with safety and other EHS requirements
• Background check may be required

The Pay For This Position Is Expected To Be $25-$27.00 Hourly DOE

Base pay offered may vary based on location, knowledge, skills, and experience. Overtime pay applies for qualifying overtime hours. The position is at-will, and the company reserves the right to modify base pay or other compensation programs at any time.
