Job Opportunity – Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) RN – Pennsylvania

Start Date: March 2, 2026

Location: Hazleton, Pennsylvania

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour shifts with every other weekend requirement; patient ratios range from 1:1 to 3:1 depending on acuity; floating required as needed

Highlights:

• Work in a Surgical Intensive Care Unit with an adult patient population, primarily age 50 and above
• Manageable 12-bed unit with daily census averaging 6 patients
• Epic charting system utilized for electronic medical records
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, rapid response teams, physical therapy, and social services
• 12-hour orientation provided to ensure smooth onboarding
• Opportunity to work with critically ill patients requiring advanced care management

Requirements:

• Active Pennsylvania or Compact RN license required at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience;
  Surgical Intensive Care Unit experience strongly preferred
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Demonstrated competency in management of dysrhythmias, arterial line management, central line care, titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, BiPAP/CPAP management, care of ventilated patients, and ETT/NT suctioning
• Experience with isolation precautions and proper PPE protocols
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• PA fingerprinting and background clearance required
