Job SummaryThe Interventional Radiology Technologist will support a broad range of diagnostic and interventional procedures in a high-acuity environment. The ideal candidate is confident, proactive, and experienced in assisting physicians during complex IR cases while maintaining strict sterile technique and radiation safety standards.
Key Responsibilities- Assist physicians with IR procedures including:
- Thoracentesis, paracentesis
- Embolization (UFE)
- IVC filter placement and retrieval
- Central line and PICC line placement
- CT-guided biopsies and needle aspirations
- Fistula and vascular access procedures
- Shock wave lithotripsy
- Prepare and maintain sterile fields
- Operate imaging equipment and assist with fluoroscopic guidance
- Ensure radiation safety compliance for patients and staff
- Anticipate physician needs and communicate effectively with the care team
- Document procedures accurately per department protocols
- Minimum 2 years of Interventional Radiology experience
- Active Illinois IEMA License
- ARRT (CT) – Active
- BLS (AHA) – Active
- Strong knowledge of aseptic technique and radiation safety
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- RCIS and/or CBT certification (highly preferred, not required)
- Experience working in high-volume or crisis IR settings
- Floating: Not required
- Scrubs: Provided by facility
