Job description/Responsibilities: Full Time (40 hours) All shifts PAY RATE: $75.25 Under general supervision is responsible for maintaining boiler and steam distribution and maintenance construction.
- Prepares boiler for inspection, such as repairs to firebox refractory, end doors, boiler stops, and valves, burners, high and low water controls, oil nozzles, electric programmer, and brushing of tubes.
- Tests boiler water and other systems for proper feeding of compounds.
- Makes repairs to all types of circulating pumps, air compressors, and vacuum pumps.
- Repairs lagging to steam pipes, hot water system, and steam valves such as packing.
- Troubleshoots and repairs air conditioning and refrigeration equipment.
- Repairs laundry equipment that includes; washers, steam dryers, and folding.
- Repair steam sterilizers and equipment in surgery that includes surgical tables and lights, suction controls, and other equipment.
- Perform and complete monthly preventative maintenance on wheelchairs, overbed tables, supply and exhaust fans, motors, and general hospital equipment.
- Assist security officers as required.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned by the Chief Engineer.
This position is an Engineer Position working all shifts.
Qualifications- License/Certifications California Driver's License required (no moving violations on record) HVAC Certification preferred
- Proof of License(s) and/or Certification(s) required at time of hire
- High school or equivalent education preferred
- Completion of an Engineering apprenticeship program
- Proof of educational levels required at time of hire.
- One year previous hospital engineering experience preferred
- Working knowledge of steam boilers
- General knowledge of emergency power distribution, electrical plumbing, carpentry, welding, painting, and building construction work.
- Basic knowledge of bio-medical equipment
- Employee must demonstrate basic computer skills.
