Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Commercial and Industrial Sales Manager to drive revenue growth by identifying, developing, and closing battery energy storage system opportunities within the C&I market. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in complex B2B sales, a deep understanding of energy storage technologies, and the ability to build lasting relationships with key decision-makers across commercial and industrial sectors.
Responsibilities- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed revenue targets for battery energy storage solutions in the commercial and industrial segments
- Identify and qualify new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, industry events, and strategic partnerships
- Manage the full sales cycle from initial contact through contract negotiation and close, including proposal development, technical presentations, and ROI analysis
- Build and maintain strong relationships with C-suite executives, facility managers, sustainability officers, and other key stakeholders
- Collaborate with engineering and project management teams to develop customized energy storage solutions that meet client needs
- Conduct detailed energy audits and financial analyses to demonstrate value propositions, including demand charge reduction, time-of-use optimization, and resilience benefits
- Stay current on industry trends, regulatory changes, incentive programs, and competitive landscape
- Maintain accurate sales pipeline data and forecasting in CRM system
- Represent Posh Energy at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events
- Work cross-functionally with marketing, operations, and finance teams to ensure successful project delivery and customer satisfaction
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of successful B2B sales experience, preferably in energy, clean tech, or capital equipment
- Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas in complex, consultative sales environments
- Strong understanding of commercial and industrial energy consumption patterns, utility rate structures, and demand charges
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to translate technical concepts to diverse audiences
- Proven ability to build relationships and navigate complex organizational structures
- Self-motivated with strong organizational and time management skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience selling battery energy storage systems, solar, microgrids, or related distributed energy resources
- Knowledge of energy storage incentive programs (ITC, SGIP, state-specific programs)
- Understanding of energy management software and controls
- Existing network of relationships in target C&I sectors (manufacturing, cold storage, data centers, agriculture, etc.)
- Technical background or engineering degree
- Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM platforms
