As a Meat Clerk at Sprouts Farmers Market, you will work in one of the store’s most popular departments. You are responsible for providing a high level of customer service, following safe food handling procedures, and demonstrating strong product knowledge and preparation techniques. You will:

• Receive, store, and grind meats; unload and transport fresh, cured, and boxed meats and poultry from delivery trucks;
• Count and weigh incoming articles and compare results against invoices;
• Examine meats in storage and rotate stock to prevent aging;
• Provide prompt and friendly customer service, assist customers with questions, special orders, and needs;
• Inform customers of weekly ad items and direct them to product locations in the store;
• Follow the company programs "Clean as You Go" and "Fresh at 4" and adhere to all Meat Department procedural guidelines;
• Thrive in a fast-paced environment and communicate effectively with the team.

To be a Meat Clerk at Sprouts Farmers Market you must:

• Be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent; basic knowledge of math, weights and measures;
• Be dependable and reliable and able to perform other related duties as assigned;
• Exhibit outgoing, friendly behavior, a positive attitude, and the ability to interact with customers;
• Be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays;
• Have good communication skills and the ability to take direction and work in a team;
• Perform general housekeeping in the department and sanitize work areas (tables, floors, walls, cases, coolers, freezers, etc.);
• Adhere to all safety, health, weights and measures regulations, and company recipes;
• Stand for up to 4 hours at a time, and up to 8 hours per shift; may walk up to 2 miles per 8 hours;
• Work in a temperature-controlled area and maintain cleanliness in the department;
• Have good vision for using knives, band saws, grinders, sausage makers, box cutters, wrapping machines, and tenderizers;
• Be able to lift/carry products up to 90 lbs., and move items up to 10 feet as required;
• Operate a pallet jack to move pallets up to 500 lbs. for up to 5 hours;
• Move racks and tables as needed, with appropriate lifting and distance limits.

The pay range for this position is $18.70 - $25.25 per hour. Sprouts Farmers Market determines pay based on applicable experience and qualifications of the applicant.
