Service Clerk - 401 Hayward

Smart & Final in Hayward, California is hiring a Service Clerk to support our customer experience. The role starts at $18.25 per hour.

• Maintain and organize shopping carts within the store and retrieve carts from the parking lot and surrounding areas.
• Assist customers with loading merchandise into shopping carts and provide vehicle assistance as requested.
• Check retail prices on shelf for check stand personnel and pull merchandise from check stand (“go backs”) to return to the proper shelf.
• Walk aisles and return any misplaced items to their proper location; face merchandise on aisles as needed.
• Monitor store cleanliness: sweep front area inside and outside, pick up trash, mop walkways, and clean entrance/exit doors daily. Restock restrooms as needed.
• Assist customers with purchase and assist with assistance to their cars as requested.

• Read and write English; interact with general public and co-workers.
• Read simple instructions and product labels; write simple correspondence.
• Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees.
• Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 45 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
• Basic PC/Outlook skills (preferred);
  Retail Management Certificate (preferred).
