W2 Contract
Pay Rate: $30 - $40 per hour
Location: Hayward, CA - Onsite Role
Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Director of Research, conduct in vitro and in vivo pre-clinical research to optimize the stimulation of the immune system using the Nano-Pulse Stimulation Platform. Conduct additional pre-clinical research where the data indicates further research.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Caring for rodents, including cage preparation, food and water monitoring, and daily temperature and humidity recording
- Conduct in vitro biological techniques, including cell culture and bioassays (i.e., ELISA, Flow Cytometry);
- In vivo skills such as handling and treating rodents, tissue sampling, and ex vivo post-processing of tissues.
- Conduct survival surgeries on rodents for internal tumor treatments.
- Design experiments using syngeneic mouse tumor models to optimize the stimulation of the immune system.
- Working closely in teams executing protocols.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements and
Qualifications:
- BS in Biology or related scientific field or equivalent experience required.
- 1+ years of relevant experience in medical device, biotech, biomedical, and life sciences fields; industry experience is highly desirable.
- Experience in generating and treating tumors in vivo in rodents, including survival surgical experience.
- Experience with sterile technique, cell culture, and standard cellular/molecular biological techniques.
- Understanding, planning, coordinating, and conducting complex research studies.
- Proficient knowledge and skill in Microsoft Office Suite applications.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and critical thinking skills.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate and work well in a team environment.
- Ability to work conscientiously and with minimal direction, using good judgment, taking initiative to accomplish short and long-range projects, and recommending actions with minimal direction.
- Ability to work as a team member, multitask, and be very flexible to adapt to the ever-changing work priorities and requirements of a dynamic, fast-growing company.
- Ability to lift 10-15 pounds.
