Position: Laboratory Technician (Chemical Industry)

Both roles receive full lab technician training and support the same lab operations.

Core Responsibilities (Both Roles)
  • Perform routine lab testing and report results
  • Maintain accurate documentation and lab records (SAP)
  • Calibrate, clean, and maintain lab equipment (biweekly)
  • Support investigations when results fall out of specification
  • Communicate results with Quality, Production, and Engineering teams
  • Follow lab safety practices, PPE requirements, and chemical handling procedures
  • Prepare reagents, standards, and test solutions
  • Participate in audits, quality inspections, and continuous improvement efforts
Required / Desired Skills
  • Hands-on lab experience preferred
  • Familiarity with lab equipment (balances, pH meters, gas chromatography, etc.)
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
  • Ability to follow SOPs with no deviation
  • Basic chemistry knowledge (preferred, not required)
  • Ability to work independently (one lab tech per shift)
  • Strong communication with cross-functional teams
  • Nice-to-haves:
  • Manufacturing or production testing experience
  • Control charting and data trending experience
  • Prior chemical industry experience
Work Schedules
  • 12-hour shifts | 4 days on / 4 days off
  • Rotates every two weeks between:
  • Day shift: 5:50 AM – 5:50 PM
  • Night shift: 5:50 PM – 5:50 AM
  • First 8 hours = regular pay; last 4 hours = time and a half
  • Shift differential applies for night shift (amount TBD)
  • Rotation schedule is a key requirement for candidates
  • Monday–Friday, 8-hour shifts
  • Covers lab during:
  • Vacations
  • When not covering the lab:
  • Supports site leadership, engineering, and quality teams
  • Assists with procedures, calibration scheduling, and safety updates
  • May work night shifts only when covering lab needs
  • 6-week training program for both roles
  • Training follows the assigned shift schedule (day/night as applicable)
  • Includes a Learning Review Board (LRB) at completion:
  • Assesses readiness to work independently
  • Training may be extended if needed (not pass/fail)
