The Midas Store Manager is responsible for business operations and store performance, including safety, efficiency, and profit/loss accountability. The manager promotes customer satisfaction and retention, growth of existing and new business, and oversees cost control, inventory management, environmental compliance, and safety. They provide strong leadership to cultivate a harmonious, collaborative, and productive work culture.
We seek a seasoned manager with an entrepreneurial spirit who will oversee operations, financial performance, morale, and growth initiatives. The ideal candidate has a college degree or coursework (preferred), three years of automotive repair experience, supervisory/management experience, a background in continuous improvement, P&L experience, and exceptional interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and direct all automotive and general service technicians, including recruiting, hiring, training, motivating, evaluating, scheduling, and coaching employees
- Deliver exceptional customer service by listening and consulting with customers
- Follow up with customers regarding services requested and estimated completion times
- Oversee vehicle inspections, make recommendations, build repair orders, and source parts
- Discuss pricing estimates with customers and promote shop service specials
- Lead, manage, and train the team, aligning with company vision, purpose, core values, and employee creed
- Oversee sales, accounting, and clerical functions from Service Advisors
- Supervise technicians’ inspections, diagnosing, and repairing domestic, European, and Asian cars and light trucks
- Maintain inventory counts and manage inventory losses
- Ensure cleanliness, organization, and environmental compliance of the facility
- Handle employee payroll, record keeping of hours, and scheduling
- Update and submit daily sales reports to corporate
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of store or service manager experience
- General automotive knowledge
- Excellent customer service skills
- Good communication skills
- Strong POS computer and internet skills
- Leadership and team-building abilities
- Flexibility to work retail hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays
- Valid driver’s license
