CNA - Subacute Unit

Job Summary

Per-Diem PM/NOC Shifts. Approximate pay range: $26.00 - $30.17 per hour. Assists with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to patients, and assists in the maintenance of a safe environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit.

• Assists with comprehensive nursing care including pre and post-operative preparation, positioning, ambulation, dietary needs, feeding of patients, AM and PM care, admission, discharge, transfer, care of patient belongings, and other patient care duties.
• Reports all unusual incidents to the appropriate person and significant changes in patient condition to Charge Nurse.
• Assists with patient teaching within scope of knowledge as directed by licensed nurse.
• Accurately determines patient vital signs and charts data within scope of practice.
• Utilizes hospital equipment and supplies appropriately.
• Consistently uses two patient identifiers when performing any procedure on a patient.
• Ensures clinical alarms remain active without RN knowing.
• Complies with Infection Control Manual (OSHA blood borne pathogen standards, CDC Guidelines) and uses PPE appropriately (gloves, masks, goggles) and handwashing techniques.
• Applies body mechanics principles to avoid injury to self and patients.
• Explains all treatment and procedures thoroughly to patient before they are performed, involves patient in care, and provides choice and control where appropriate.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.

• Certified as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the state of California.
• BLS upon hire and maintain current.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Fully vaccinated against COVID‑19, including booster.
