Job Summary
Per-Diem AM Shift. Approximate pay range: $53.46 - $74.00. Under general supervision, responsible for providing therapy services to patients, including evaluations, planning individual patient care programs, treatments, and home programs.
Job description/Responsibilities:
- Perform patient evaluation and administer treatment.
- Design and revise plans of care and goals.
- Provide written and/or verbal reports to physicians.
- Ensure documentation is complete and timely and meets unit standards and regulatory requirements.
- Complete accurate charge sheets for patients treated and submit them daily.
- Obtain physician orders for evaluation and treatment; ensure proper authorization when required prior to treatment.
- Participate in in-service education programs.
- Demonstrate flexibility in meeting hospital and unit needs.
- Participate in clinical instruction of affiliating students; provide instruction and delegate to aides and PTAs, new employees, PTLA’s students, and volunteers.
- Keep abreast of current trends and developments in Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation.
- Participate in related activities such as patient care committees, case conferences, personnel orientations, community education projects, and in-service education.
- Demonstrate interest in personal and professional growth.
- Participate in development and evaluation of clinic standards, budget, and quality improvement indicators.
- Other Duties:
Perform pre‑employment fitness testing, worksite evaluations and training, wound care, performance improvement activities; perform other job‑related duties as assigned by the Director, Rehabilitation/Occupational Services.
Required
Qualification:
- Current California Physical Therapy License or eligibility.
- Current BCLS from the American Heart Association.
- Proof of all required license(s) and/or certification(s) due at time of hire.
- BA or MA in Physical Therapy.
- Proof of all required educational levels due at time of hire.
- Experience of six months to two years; new graduates may be acceptable.
- No referrals or candidates accepted from recruiters or agencies.
Skills:
- Knowledgeable of the principles and practices of Physical Therapy and other disciplines.
- Ability to evaluate, plan, and carry out a Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation program for individual patients.
- Ability to explain, demonstrate, and teach physical and rehabilitative measures.
- Ability to supervise support personnel.
- Ability to work effectively with others in an inter‑disciplinary team relationship.
- Ability to be self‑directing and to seek direction and consultation as needed.
