Our client, a nationwide manufacturer of commercial machinery, has an immediate need for an experienced Sales Application Engineer, to join our winning team in Hayward.
Our candidate of choice will perform a hybrid role as pre-sales engineer, cost estimator, and quote content creator. Propose the best equipment to meet the customer’s needs.
Key Responsibilities- Learn our Food Processing equipment and its technical benefits, then recommend equipment for specific applications based on customer specifications
- Perform equipment sizing calculations including heat and mass balance.
- Use SAP data, design reviews, and statistical analysis to create cost estimates for custom-engineered equipment.
- Generate quotes and conduct sales presentations.
- Utilize Microsoft Dynamics CRM or equivalent tool to organize and prioritize workload.
- Utilize AutoCAD (2D) and Inventor (3D) to generate pre-sale Conceptual Layout Drawings (CLD).
- Occasional travel to customer facilities for meetings and to take site measurements.
- B.S. in engineering or equivalent experience with food equipment.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in cost estimating or sales engineering.
- CAD experience with both 2D and 3D layouts required.
- Mechanical aptitude or experience to understand manufacturing methods and predict costs.
- Experience in food processing equipment or industrial equipment manufacturing is a plus
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Experience with SAP, CRM, and Oracle CPQ is a plus.
- Experience with cloud storage/file sharing systems (Box, SharePoint, One Drive) is a plus.
