Engineering Technician, EE SystemsThe Electrical Distribution System team is responsible for the design and delivery of the vehicle's low-voltage wiring harnesses - the backbone of the electrical architecture that connects and powers every system on the Customer's vehicle.
As an Engineering Technician supporting EDS, you will play a critical role in supporting harness quality and manufacturability on the production floor. You will collaborate closely with the EDS design engineers and manufacturing teams to identify root causes of harness-related issues, perform controlled rework activities, and ensure adherence to Customer's best practices and engineering standards.
Responsibilities- Diagnose and support RCA for harness issues on the production floor
- Perform safe, high-quality harness rework on-vehicle and on-bench
- Record and track all rework and corrective actions
- Partner with EDS engineers to improve harness build methods and quality
- 3+ years of experience in automotive electrical or harness assembly and repair
- Skilled in harness rework, splicing, and connector replacement per industry standards (IPC/WHMA-A-620, USCAR-21)
- Ability to read electrical drawings and follow rework instructions accurately
- Hands‑on experience with crimping tools, wire handling, and harness inspection in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with low-voltage harness design or release tools, (Capital, CATIA, or equivalent)
- Familiarity with Jira for tracking issues, rework actions, and RCA progress
- Knowledge of ESD and safety procedures for EV or autonomous vehicle platforms
- Experience with RCCA documentation or quality management systems
- Ability to train or guide production teams on harness rework best practices
