The Chabot-Las Positas Community College District is seeking a Part‑Time Instructor to teach Human Anatomy & Physiology in the Biology department in Spring 2026 and beyond. The ideal candidate must have a passion for teaching and learning and a strong commitment to the missions and values of the community college. They must have community college experience teaching Human Anatomy and/or combined Human Anatomy and Physiology.

We are looking for excellent instructors who are student‑centered in their approach and dedicated to student success, with interest in curriculum and instructional improvement through ongoing critical thinking about student learning outcomes in courses and programs.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Deliver organized lectures to teach the topics as listed in the course outline of record.
  • Evaluate students using formative assessments such as homework assignments, quizzes and exams.
  • Teach a hybrid online lab curriculum (with limited in‑person labs) that includes cadaver dissections, to satisfy the course outline of record in collaboration with the lab technician and lead faculty for Anatomy.
  • Provide effective and timely feedback to students.
  • Create a welcoming and student‑centered learning and teaching environment.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's degree in any biological science OR Bachelor's in any biological science AND Master's in biochemistry, biophysics, or marine science OR the equivalent.
  • Evidence of understanding of and responsiveness to the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, racial and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, as these factors relate to the need for equity‑minded practices within the classroom.
  • Applicants applying under the "Equivalent" provision must provide details that explain at time of application how their academic preparation is the equivalent of the degree listed above.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Experience teaching at the community college level or being the instructor of record in lower division courses.
  • Experience teaching online.
  • Experience working or teaching in a laboratory.
  • Experience performing human cadaver dissection while maintaining a safe working environment and following all required safety procedures.
