Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Hays, KS, for an Accountant at Developmental Services of Northwest Kansas, Inc. The Accountant will be responsible for a variety of financial tasks, including preparing financial statements, managing budgets, and maintaining financial records. Responsibilities also include overseeing accounts payable and receivable, preparing payroll, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with applicable financial regulations. The Accountant will collaborate with other departments to support accurate financial reporting and contribute to the organization's mission of empowering individuals with I/DD.

Qualifications
  • Proficiency in accounting principles, financial reporting, and budget management
  • Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing systems
  • Proficiency in the use of accounting software, spreadsheets, and financial tools
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and documentation
  • Ability to collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required
  • CPA or equivalent accounting certification is preferred but not required
  • Prior experience in nonprofit accounting or work with similar organizations is a plus
