Job Description

Our client is seeking a confident Small Animal Vet Surgeon to join a well‑established first‑opinion setting on a part‑time basis. This role is ideal for a veterinarian who enjoys building lasting client relationships while having the autonomy to shape their own caseload within a supportive clinical environment.

The position offers a balanced mix of consultations and routine surgical work, supported by an experienced senior colleague and a capable nursing team. It provides an excellent opportunity for a vet who values consistency, enjoys continuity of care, and prefers a structured working pattern that allows time outside of practice commitments.

This role would particularly suit a clinician who is comfortable working independently during the week, enjoys developing their own client base, and appreciates the reassurance of strong regional and hospital‑level clinical support when required.

In This Position, Your Responsibilities Will Include
  • Delivering first‑opinion consultations with clear diagnostic and treatment planning
  • Carrying out routine surgical procedures within personal competence
  • Maintaining accurate and compliant clinical records
  • Making appropriate referral decisions when cases require escalation
  • Contributing positively to a respectful and collaborative team culture
Qualifications Needed
  • RCVS registration or eligibility to register in the UK
  • Experience with in small animal general practice preferred
  • Confidence working independently within a GP environment
  • Strong communication skills with clients and colleagues
  • A calm, organised, and reliable clinical approach
