Technician, Refrigeration​/HVAC

Position Summary

Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician  will support and oversee repair of Walmart facilities refrigeration and HVAC equipment using commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills and a variety of tools.

• Maintain and repair Walmart facility refrigeration and HVAC equipment and assets.
• Use the work order management system to receive repair work orders, support stores and store associates, and document repair activities.
• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls.
• Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
• Complete all required training to operate equipment and tools safely.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations and Walmart safety policies.
• Lift up to 75 pounds, move up and down ladders, and work comfortably at heights frequently.

• 2 years experience in commercial refrigeration HVAC maintenance.
• Large‑scale rack refrigeration experience.
• Type I, Type II, or Universal EPA certification for refrigerant handling.
• Valid state‑issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass an MVR report.
• 18 years or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Vocational or technical HVAC/R certification and at least 2 years mechanical maintenance experience in a commercial HVAC/R and building controls environment, or 4 years mechanical maintenance experience.

• Completion of a 2‑year vocational or technical HVAC/R program.
• Mechanical license in the city or state where the job is located.

The hourly wage range is $23.00 to $45.00. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage for the job location. Optional premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour, depending on schedule, facility, season or specific work performed.
