OSI Optoelectronics is seeking an Assembly & Test Operator to assemble electronic components and perform testing as part of a team.

Responsibilities
  • Assemble electronic components from written to oral instructions under a microscope using tweezers.
  • Conduct DC and PIND tests.
  • Perform Constant Acceleration and Differential VBE tests.
  • Handle Temp Test, Laser Mark, Solder Dip, X-Ray, Leak Test, External Visual and Mechanical inspections.
  • Cross-trained in other related test areas as production demand requires.
  • Create original documents, reports and spreadsheets and interpret information furnished in written, oral or schedule form.

  • Demonstrate behavior consistent with the company’s Code of Ethics and Conduct.
  • Report quality problems or defects to management for corrective action to avoid recurrence.
  • Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience may be substituted for a degree.
  • Related work experience in a manufacturing environment desired.
  • Familiarity with optical inspection, eutectic die attach, and ultrasonic wire bonding ideal.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Internet and email programs.
  • Must be able to work with tweezers, microscopes, and chemicals such as alcohol, acetone and solder daily.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods at a computer station; may stand for lengthy periods at events.
  • Requires clear vision at 20 inches or less with or without corrective lenses.
  • Requires excellent manual dexterity and basic math skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and strong critical thinking skills.
  • Detail-oriented, able to multi-task, identify priorities and work independently, efficiently and effectively.
  • Keeps work area neat and orderly.
  • Within the first three months of employment, must demonstrate proficiency in manufacturing processes, quality requirements, and operational procedures. Upon successful demonstration, the individual will be considered certified to ensure compliance with internal standards, customer requirements, and applicable industry regulations.

Life  pay range above represents annual base salary only. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as job level, geographic location, date of hire, experience, knowledge and skills, and education in conjunction with market considerations. Base salary is one component of total rewards, which may include long-term incentives, discretionary bonuses, and the ability to purchase company stock through the Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP).
