OSI Optoelectronics is seeking an Assembly & Test Operator. This individual will be responsible for assembling electronic components from written or oral instructions under a microscope using tweezers. They will work as part of a team responsible for assembling an entire product or product component. In addition, they will perform a variety of processing and testing on electronic components, including DC test, PIND test, constant acceleration, differential VBE, temperature test, laser mark, solder dip, X‑ray, leak test, external visual, and mechanical tests.
Responsibilities- Assembly of electronic components from written or oral instructions under a microscope using tweezers.
- Conduct DC and PIND tests.
- Perform constant acceleration and differential VBE tests.
- Responsible for temperature test.
- Perform laser mark, solder dip, X‑ray, leak test, external visual, and mechanical tests.
- Cross‑trained in other related test areas as production demand requires.
- Create original documents, reports, and spreadsheets and interpret information furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.

- Report quality problems or defects to a manager or senior management to enable corrective action and prevent recurrence.
- Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; experience may substitute for a degree.
- Related work experience in a manufacturing environment desired.
- Familiarity with optical inspection, eutectic die attach, and ultrasonic wire bonding ideal.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, internet, and e‑mail programs.
- Must be able to work with tweezers, microscopes, and chemicals such as alcohol, acetone, and solder on a daily basis.
- Sit for extended periods at a computer station or work desk; stand and walk throughout the day; may stand for lengthy periods at events.
- Require clear vision at 20 inches or less with or without corrective lenses.
- Require excellent manual dexterity and basic math skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and strong critical thinking skills.
- Detail‑oriented, multi‑tasking, identify priorities, and able to work independently, efficiently, and effectively.
- Keep work area neat and orderly.
- Within the first three months of employment, demonstrate proficiency in manufacturing processes, quality requirements, and operational procedures. Upon successful demonstration, the individual will be considered certified, ensuring compliance with internal standards, customer requirements, and applicable industry regulations.
The pay range above represents annual base salary only. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as job level, geographic location, date of hire, experience, job‑related knowledge and skills, and education in conjunction with market and business considerations. Base salary is one component of your total rewards package. You may be eligible for long‑term incentives, potential discretionary bonuses, and the ability to purchase company stock at a discounted rate through the Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP).
