Quality Inspector - Mechanical - Level 2

Overview

Quality Inspector - Mechanical - Level 2 in Hawthorne, CA. This is a full-time position supporting first or second shift. Base pay range is $29.00/hr - $31.00/hr.

• Perform detailed inspections—visual, dimensional, and physical—on components, assemblies, and raw materials throughout various production phases (including in-process, final, and first article) to verify compliance with engineering drawings and specifications
• Operate and utilize precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, dial indicators, gauge blocks, height gauges, and profilometers to validate part conformity
• Conduct surface plate inspections and statistical lot sampling based on quality requirements
• Apply sharp visual inspection skills to identify workmanship issues and product defects, including damage such as burrs, scratches, loose fasteners, dings, and inadequate edge distances
• Identify and categorize nonconformities and confirm that corrective actions or rework have been properly executed
• Receive shipping documentation for accuracy, confirming part numbers, serial numbers, change notices, and destination data are correct
• Ensure appropriate packaging, preservation, and delivery handling upon receiving

• 3+ years of hands-on experience with precision mechanical parts inspection
• Strong ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings and industry/commodity standards
• Proficient in GD&T and validating dimensions (tolerances ≥.005”) using hand tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, height gauges)
• Ability to adapt to new technology and software
• Excellent visual acuity to detect defects in complex products
• Must be willing to undergo a background check
• Must be ITAR compliant
