As a member of the critical infrastructure team, you will help design, build, activate and maintain some of the world’s most technically advanced manufacturing facilities. You will operate with autonomy to solve diverse and complex problems, excel at managing multiple projects at a time and work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. As a crane technician, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of all crane assets across campus.
Responsibilities- Support a team responsible for all facilities crane and elevator operations to ensure zero unplanned interruptions of services to employees and customers.
- Coordinate the planning, budgeting, scheduling, and scope of work enforcement for facilities crane operations and elevator services.
- Develop and administer an effective and efficient preventative maintenance program.
- Open, track, and resolve electronic work tickets on Space
X’s custom work order system. - Consult with production engineering and facilities construction for required crane systems.
- Prioritize tasks and projects effectively to drive department efficiency and eliminate blockers to critical path.
- Have high regard for personal safety and safety of others while providing safety leadership and driving a culture of safety excellence.
- Assure there is compliance with all Federal, State and local building codes as related to facilities crane and elevator operations.
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
- 5+ years of crane technician experience.
- Experience leading or mentoring others
- PMP, BOC Level I or Level II, or CFM/FMP certifications.
- Bachelor’s degree in facilities operations, or equivalent trade experience.
- Experience with bridge and gantry cranes.
- Experience with modification of crane parts.
- Knowledge of welding operations.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to utilize shop equipment for repairs or inspections.
- Ability to read, interpret and understand technical language in specifications, schematics and blueprints.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing atmosphere safely and follow safety practices and regulations.
- Ability to work in a high-volume, fast paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Strong work ethic and problem solving attitude.
- Strong organizational and collaborative communication skills.
- Provide 24/7 on-call support of all critical activities and emergency situations.
- This is not a remote or hybrid position and will require relocation if not already local to the Hawthorne, CA area.
- Position occasionally requires the ability to work extended hours and weekends when needed.
- Ability to work and remain focused in confined spaces and hazardous environments while wearing appropriate PPE.
- Ability to stand, crawl, stoop, and push or lift up to 30 lbs. unassisted. Ability to operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and boom lifts when needed.
Pay range:
- Level 3: $38.00 - $48.00/hour + $2.00/hour lead differential
- Level 4: $43.00 - $52.00/hour + $2.00/hour lead differential
- Level 5: $48.00 - $60.00/hour + $2.00/hour lead differential
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
Base salary is part of total rewards and may include long-term incentives, discretionary bonuses and the ability to purchase Space
