Position: Workers' Compensation and Safety Coordinator

Under the direction of the Human Resources Director and in collaboration with Finance and Legal Departments, the coordinator will manage employee workers' compensation claims, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and developing effective safety training programs. This role includes identifying safety needs, conducting training sessions, and fostering a culture of safety within the organization.

  • Will act as a liaison between the company and third parties related to workers’ compensation claims, including outside counsel, insurance companies, adjusters, and medical professionals.
  • Overseeing employee injury cases, investigating claims and incidents, and managing leaves of absence related to claims.
  • Closely monitors litigation status on elevated claim files. Attend depositions and hearings of litigated claims.
  • Reviews proposed third-party claims settlements with management.
  • Participates in annual and mid-term claim reviews with broker and carrier representatives.
  • Create, implement, and continuously improve safety policies and procedures tailored to the specific needs of the organization.
  • Prepare reports as requested by the management team including but not limited to cost of claims, return to work, safety, trend analysis, claims closure and resolutions reports.
  • Spearheads the company's safety committee and develop strategies to promote a safer workplace.
  • Prepare regular safety performance reports for management, highlighting areas of improvement or potential risk.
  • Prepare detailed reports on incidents and follow up on corrective actions taken.
  • Foster a safety-conscious culture within the organization by encouraging employee participation in safety initiatives.
  • Reward and recognize employees who demonstrate strong safety behaviors.
  • Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees at all levels.
  • Ensure that all safety programs and workplace conditions comply with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards, as well as local, state, and industry-specific regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of compliance, inspections, and employee training to demonstrate adherence to safety regulations. Responsible for maintaining and reporting OSHA 300 information.
  • Responsible for adherence to established policies and procedures and compliance of state and federal laws connected with these functions.
  • May also be assigned various Human Resources related duties.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $33.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
