Visitor Information Program Assistant II

Recruitment Number: DOT-AIR-2025-39

Salary: $3,471 to $4,388 per month (SR-10, Steps C - I)

Location: Kona (Delegated)

Shift: Rotating shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet, welcome, and assist the traveling public in providing information on hotels, accommodations, ground and air transportation, tourist attractions, and activities.
  • Disseminate maps, brochures, and periodicals at the airport.
  • Speak a designated foreign language and provide interpreter services as required.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year of progressively responsible experience in hospitality or customer service to traveling public.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instructions; high verbal skill.
  • Basic experience:
    High school diploma or equivalent, plus continuous part‑time or unpaid experience demonstrating instruction comprehension.
  • Language requirement:
    Must be able to speak one of the following languages (in addition to English):
    Japanese, Mandarin, Korean, Tagalog, Hawaiian, Samoan.
  • Driver’s license required.
  • Eligible for SIDA clearance with no disqualifying federal criminal conviction within ten years.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States (citizen, national, permanent resident, or eligible under federal law).
