MKR Lead Maintenance Journeyman
Primary ResponsibilitiesPerform maintenance and repair of golf course and grounds equipment, as well as resort vehicles and utility vehicles. Does general repair work including; supervise, delegate, train, and perform all duties of personnel in lower grade positions under his direction. Is responsible for the proper maintenance and servicing of all equipment and resort vehicles. Assigns tasks or regular servicing of equipment to garage staff.
Originate and/or create purchase order requests and maintain adequate stock of parts. Able to make independent decisions on general maintenance and repair work.
- Perform major maintenance and repairs of vehicles and equipment including welding and fabricating.
- Review all work orders and determine priorities for the week.
- Assign tasks or work orders to the garage mechanics under their direction.
- Insure that all work is performed to our standards by monitoring proper equipment functions and repairs.
- Establish written schedules for the mechanics on reel and bedknife grinding and equipment servicing.
- Research and order parts and materials.
- Working knowledge of all OSHA, safety, building codes and laws pertaining to their particular trade.
- Direct and train lower graded personnel under their field or scope of work.
- Able to communicate well with vendors and manufacturer to troubleshoot
- Responsible for the proper use, maintenance and care of tools and equipment.
- Able to do brazing, arc and wire feed welding.
- Lead or assist in special projects.
- Complete work assignments in a timely manner
- Perform duties following safety procedures and policies.
- Maintains files and repair records.
- Communicates with staff and department heads to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Provides assistance to other crews as needed.
- Responds to after hour emergencies as requested.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
- Assist golf course maintenance staff as needed.
- Keep shop and work area clean and orderly.
- Work in a partially enclosed garage in hot or windy weather conditions.
- May be dusty with moderate to loud noise and fumes from fuel
- Must be able to work shift and days determined by the manager
- Must be able to work more than 40 hours per week, when needed
- Truck or car with standard or automatic shift.
- Utility vehicle
- Various hand tools to repair or service vehicles or equipment such as screwdriver, wrench, pliers, hammer, exact knives, chisels.
- Various hand power tools such as drills, power saw and grinders.
- Pneumatic tools.
- Ability to stand and walk while doing repairs, washing vehicle, getting tools.
- Ability to bend, kneel, squat, and reach to do repairs.
- Able to lift, carry, push or pull up to and over 50 lbs. of tools, equipment of supplies.
- Able to climb in and out of vehicles.
- Must have the ability to communicate verbally or in writing to employees, managers, or vendors
- Ability to communicate over the phone
- ASE Certification or equivalent in related work experience.
- 6 years related work experience
- Driver's license
- Able to read and understand manuals, instructions, etc. related to parts, tools and equipment maintenance and repair.
- Must have knowledge of common hydraulic system.
- Must be able to weld and fabricate parts to make repairs.
- Able to lead, direct and train garage personnel.
