Position Summary: Stocks merchandise and prepares displays while maintaining a neat, clean, and safe environment, providing standard customer service.

Job Duties:

• Greets customers when within ten feet and four seconds of contact.
• Assists customers on the grocery floor by finding items, returning stray items to their proper area, and removing damaged products from customer view to maintain product freshness.
• Responsible for orders, receiving, gross margins, and warehousing of incoming merchandise from vendors.
• Ensures signage and labels are accurate to ensure proper pricing.
• Supervises, directs, guides, and trains all associates associated with the chill frozen department.
• Stocks and rotates grocery items while keeping all labels faced forward.
• Pulls empty cardboard boxes off the shelves from around the store and bales boxes following proper equipment procedures.
• Provides some cashiering and bagging help when needed, ensuring register accuracy and carrying out proper register procedures.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by manager.

Capabilities:

• Stand for long periods of time, frequently walking back and forth from grocery warehouse to grocery floor.
• Carry up to 60 pounds, push and pull up to 1000 pounds with pallet mule, frequent motions with arms/hands to stock items, bend to fill products on lower levels.
• Use proper safety procedures.
• Able to multitask, listen to directions, work as part of a team, and follow through independently when needed.
• Able to deal with difficult customers, possessing good communication and observation skills.

Job Skills:

• Previous experience working with the public.
• Able to use box cutters.
• Knowledge of location of products.
• Working knowledge of produce codes required, able to differentiate between different produce products when ringing.

Environment:

• Air-conditioned while in store, subject to outside conditions of heat, rain, and wind, chill temperatures when products need to be retrieved from chill and freezer.
• Very fast-paced.

Other:

Must be at least 18 years of age to ring register and operate machinery.
