Travel ICU​/CCU Registered Nurse

Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU – Intensive Care Unit for a 13‑week travel contract in Waimea, Hawaii. The role requires a minimum of two years of ICU/CCU experience, active Hawaii RN license, and the ability to float across multiple units including OB, MS, PACU, and ER.

• Serve a small 4‑bed/4‑room ICU/CCU unit within a hospital setting.
• Care for a diverse patient population spanning pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric age groups.
• Provide surgical and critical respiratory/cardiac care.
• Patient ratio 1:2 depending on acuity; a second nurse is called when required.
• Provide after‑hours PACU recovery coverage as needed.
• Float to OB, MS, PACU, and ER based on individual competency.
• Work a rotating 12‑hour shift schedule; must be open to any shift with no exceptions.
• 80‑hour, 2‑week pay period with no exceptions.
• Coordinate and deliver age‑appropriate individualized care to ICU/CCU patients.
• Complete a two‑day orientation covering HR onboarding, safety, risk and quality, in‑services, IT, and EMR training.
• Complete unit orientation with 1–2 day shifts and 1–2 night shifts alongside a staff RN.
• COVID‑19 vaccination is not required.

• Active Hawaii (HI) RN license.
• Minimum two years of ICU/CCU nursing experience.
• Current BLS/BCLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
• Emergency room experience is recommended.
• Willing and able to work any shift with no exceptions.

Pay package is based on 12‑hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation). Tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.
