Field Assistant

Job Summary

Under supervision, the Field Assistant will ensure growers comply with our Farm Food Safety and Good Agricultural Practices Programs, complete daily inspection logs, and report observations to supervisor.

• Conduct, record, and report food safety inspections in papaya orchards.
• Perform weekly cleaning, sanitation, and restocking of farm toilets, handwashing stations, and tool sanitation sprays.
• Conduct, record, and report field maintenance inspections.
• Provide feedback to papaya growers regarding food safety, fruit quality, and good agricultural practices.
• Follow all Company rules and policies including safety regulations.
• Follow all food safety and good manufacturing practices.
• Promptly report violations or potential problems to supervisor.
• Ensure proper functioning of all equipment, correcting or reporting problems promptly.
• Maintain a clean, hazard-free work area.
• Perform other work duties as assigned.

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent education.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Experience working in agricultural operations is preferred.
• Good knowledge and understanding of Food Safety and Safe work practices common to the trades.
• Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook) preferred.

• Ability to perform and lead the essential functions of the job.
• Ability to use a computer and navigate through in house software.
• Ability to speak, read and write clearly including the ability to communicate work issues in a clear, professional manner; fluency in English is helpful but not required.
• Ability to work effectively as a team member, high level of dependability and work ethic.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to learn food safety regulations and good agricultural practices.
• Commitment to the company’s values and ethics.
• Working knowledge of similar farming operations.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is primarily walking and driving on unpaved roads, is regularly required to stand, walk, talk, hear, or sit for prolonged periods, and use hands to write, handle, lift or feel. • The base hourly wage we reasonably expect to pay for this role is: $13.41 - $20.10
• The actual hourly wage for this role will be determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s skills and experience.
• Please note that base pay is one important aspect of a compelling Total Rewards package. The base pay range indicated here does not include any additional benefits or cash bonuses that you may be eligible for based on your role and/or employment type.
