Role Overview :Operations Manager – Maui
The Operations Manager will lead all facets of the Maui location’s operational infrastructure, including:
- Central Distribution & Receiving
- Retail Lumber Yard Operations
- Store Operations
- Inventory Management
- Fleet & Delivery Operations
This role ensures materials flow seamlessly from port arrival to warehouse storage, yard handling, store merchandising, and final delivery to customer jobsites—while maintaining exceptional standards in safety, service, cost control, and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities Central Distribution & Receiving- Oversee inbound freight, container unloading, and port coordination
- Ensure accurate receiving, system updates, and product allocation
- Optimize warehouse layout and product flow
- Drive strong On‑Time, In‑Full (OTIF) delivery performance
- Lead daily yard and store operations
- Maintain safe material handling and organized yard standards
- Support contractor and homeowner traffic with strong operational execution
- Partner with sales leadership to align service levels with customer expectations
- Maintain high inventory accuracy through cycle counts and reconciliation
- Manage high‑SKU building materials inventory
- Monitor product turns, slow‑moving inventory, and shrink reduction
- Collaborate with purchasing to forecast demand in an island‑based supply chain
- Oversee flatbeds, boom trucks, and delivery vehicles
- Ensure DOT compliance and preventive maintenance scheduling
- Improve route efficiency, fuel management, and dispatch coordination
- Enforce safe driving practices and fleet safety training
- Champion a safety‑first culture across all departments
- Ensure OSHA, DOT, and state regulatory compliance
- Lead safety meetings, training programs, and incident investigations
- Implement corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives
- Manage labor, freight, maintenance, and inventory budgets
- Track KPIs including inventory accuracy, labor productivity, freight expense, shrink, and service levels
- Identify process improvements that enhance efficiency without sacrificing customer service
- Lead supervisors and frontline teams across warehouse, yard, store, receiving, and fleet functions
- Establish clear performance standards and accountability
