Hawaiian Building Maintenance (HBM) has been providing quality service since 1957. We are one of the largest facility service providers in the State of Hawaii. We are seeking a highly motivated, reliable, and trustworthy individual with excellent customer service skills and a detail‑oriented mindset to clean and maintain commercial buildings. You must have prior hands‑on experience in basic maintenance, custodial work or related experience, and be able to clean common areas, maintain inventory of supplies, perform basic repairs and report any issues.

- Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and repairs (painting, drywall, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, HVAC, grounds maintenance).
- Provide excellent customer service while interacting with property managers, vendors, and customers.
- Travel to various locations to provide coverage as needed.
- Lift, push, or pull a minimum of 50 lbs, up to 75 lbs, and perform activities such as walking, bending, and stretching during shifts.
- Ensure all mechanical equipment and systems are functioning properly and carry out necessary repairs.
- Create and maintain work orders and purchase orders.
- Perform any additional maintenance duties as directed by the HBM supervisor or property management.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle.
- Successful completion of a background check is mandatory.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule.
- General preventative maintenance experience (basic plumbing, electrical work, HVAC, carpentry, painting, drywall).
- Strong troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude.
- Capable of following verbal and written instructions in English.
- Excellent public relations and communication skills.
- Customer service‑oriented with strong organizational abilities.
- Ability to perform basic manual labor, clean common areas, and lift, push, pull or carry between 50 lbs and 75 lbs.
- Physical requirements:
reaching overhead, grasping objects, bending, kneeling, crawling, squatting, climbing, stretching, walking, navigating stairs, climbing ladders, standing during shift. - A willingness to learn and improve is essential.
Schedule:
Sunday–Saturday: 6 am to 2:30 pm or 1 pm to 9:30 pm (40 hours per week). Must have open availability, subject to emergencies: after‑hours, weekends and holidays.
Compensation: $26.00 per hour.
