This individual is responsible for the repairs and preventive maintenance for all facilities at the resort. The role of the engineer is to provide a safe and healthy environment for our colleagues' and our guests to enjoy.
What you will be doing- Responsible to complete guest room preventive maintenance throughout the year on a scheduled basis.
- Clean and maintain all areas throughout the property.
- Respond to guest and colleague requests throughout the facility to make necessary repairs to accommodate the customer's needs in a timely and courteous manner.
- Required to be responsible for specified equipment and areas of responsibilities, which is typically in guest rooms. This includes tasks such as replacing batteries in devices that have batteries, replacing the filter in an AC unit, cleaning the cooling coil in an AC unit, etc.
- Assist first, second, and third class engineers on a day‑to‑day duties and special projects if asked to do so by the Chief Engineer.
- Paint areas as needed.
Your experience and skills include:
- Service oriented with an eye for details
- Ability to work effectively and contribute in a team
- Self‑motivated and energetic
- Maintain a clean and neat appearance at all times
- Must have a good working knowledge of basic electrical systems, including 120‑V building power related tools such as multi‑meters and amp probes.
- Good working knowledge of basic plumbing and piping systems, including copper pipe fitting, PVC pipe fitting.
- Must have a general working knowledge of basic HVAC systems such as fan coils, air handling units, exhaust fans and make‑up air units.
- Maintenance of systems will include filter changes, lubricating bearings, cleaning cooling coils, cleaning drain pans and checking / changing drive belts.
- Must be knowledgeable of OSHA workplace safety standards such as PPE, Lock Out Tag Out, Ladder Safety, HAZCOM and similar.
- Visual ability to read manufacturer's instructions, schematics and blueprints.
