The Alaka`ina Foundation Family of Companies (FOCs) is looking for a Systems Administrator to support our government customer located in Kekaha, Hawai'i.
Provides Windows system administration for all Clients and Servers connected to the Pacific Missile Range Facility (PMRF) classified and unclassified networks. Deploys Cyber Security mandated system upgrades, system patches, and system security lockdown requirements. Performs system wide troubleshooting and problem resolution in a live mission environment.
DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES- Administer and maintain Microsoft Windows Server environments in classified and unclassified environments across Navy networks.
- Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy Objects (GPOs) across multiple domains and enclaves.
- Implement and maintain RMF security controls and ensure systems are compliant with DISA STIGs and DoD cybersecurity policies.
- Apply and manage patches and updates across all Microsoft systems in accordance with DoD and Navy patch management policies.
- Manage automated installation methods and system imaging (e.g., SCCM, VMware, Nutanix)
- Perform system hardening, patching, and vulnerability remediation using tools such as ACAS, ESS, and SCAP.
- Develop and maintain Power Shell scripts for automation of administrative tasks and system configuration.
- Support virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper‑V) and manage virtual infrastructure lifecycle.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to support ATO packages, POA&Ms, and audit readiness.
- Maintain system documentation, configuration baselines, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Participate in Change Control Boards (CCBs) and Configuration Management Boards (CMBs).
- Assist with incident response, forensic analysis, and system recovery efforts.
- Support backup and disaster recovery strategies using enterprise tools (e.g., Veeam, Commvault).
- Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
- General office environment with site visits as well as periodic "at sea" duty to support the PMRF's Mobile at Sea Sensor system (MATSS)
- Candidate must be capable of working in a team environment and participate in technical and system administrative activities throughout project life cycles.
Office conditions are varied and include physical tasks including lifting, pushing or pulling up to 50 pounds with a two-men assist. Physical positions will include but not be limited to walking, sitting or standing for extended periods of time, crawling, kneeling, stooping or cramped working places and work requiring repeated or frequent climbing. Environment will include customer contact, extended workdays, a confined office laboratory work area environment with field assignments, sometimes in inclement weather.
REQUIREDDEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION
- Knowledge of IT systems and advance IT infrastructure concepts
- Must be proficient in operating personal computers, computer software and standard office equipment
- Must have basic keyboarding skills and aptitude for neatness and accuracy in sorting
- Critical thinking - Proven problem solver
- Advance knowledge and certification in both Windows Server and RHEL is considered highly desired
- Proficiency in automation tools and scripting (e.g., Power Shell, Bash, Python)
- Knowledge/Administration of Trellix, Log Rhythm, and MDE
- Experience with MECM/SCCM
- Experience with DoD systems and infrastructure
- Knowledge in Cyber Security Methods and Techniques
