Job Description
Overview
Lead Engineering Where Mission Meets Innovation.
SOSi is seeking an Engineering Site Lead at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam (JBPHH) to drive technical excellence in support of critical Indo-Pacific missions. This is a high-impact leadership role for a senior systems engineer who thrives at the intersection of strategy, technology, and people. As the site's primary engineering interface with government and military customers, you will oversee engineering operations, guide diverse technical teams, and ensure mission-ready solutions are delivered with precision and reliability.
In this role, you'll blend hands-on systems engineering expertise with forward-leaning leadership-collaborating across geographically dispersed teams, mentoring engineers and technicians, and partnering closely with customer stakeholders. Your deep understanding of full?stack network integration, private cloud operations, Desktop as a Service (DaaS), cross?domain solutions, and tactical-edge warfighter support will directly shape how cutting-edge capabilities are delivered in a complex defense environment. If you are a strategic thinker who can lead, communicate, and execute at scale, this is your opportunity to make a lasting impact at the operational edge of national defense.
Essential Job Duties:
- Serve as Deputy Engineering Branch Chief and primary technical liaison between government/military customers and contractor engineering teams.
- Provide strategic leadership for the engineering branch, aligning plans, priorities, and execution with enterprise and mission objectives.
- Oversee engineering operations, including task planning, execution, risk management, and delivery to cost, schedule, and performance expectations.
- Lead, organize, and mentor diverse engineering teams, fostering collaboration, innovation, and professional growth.
- Ensure compliance with government, cybersecurity, and industry standards, conducting reviews and audits as required.
- Provide technical oversight and hands-on expertise across systems engineering, full?stack network integration, cloud services, and enterprise IT operations.
- Partner with program management on resource planning, staffing, budgeting, and proposal development.
- Represent engineering leadership in technical reviews, customer briefings, audits, and program reviews.
- Drive process improvement and technology adoption to enhance system performance, resiliency, and mission effectiveness.
- Maintain system integrity, security, documentation, asset accountability, and overall enterprise health, resolving complex technical issues as needed.
- Perform other duties as required by contract or company needs.
Minimum Requirements:
- An active in-scope Secret Clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent years of related experience) AND a minimum of fifteen (15) years of related systems administration and/or engineering experience.
- 10+ years of experience in systems administration, security operations or enterprise IT service center operations.
- An IAT II certification (CCNA-Security, CND, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, or SSCP) or higher.
- Experience working with or for government agencies or in a DoD government contracting environment.
- Strong understanding of systems engineering, project management, and lifecycle development.
- Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Able to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
- Customer-service oriented with a willingness to participate and assist.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in IT solutions implementation, administration, troubleshooting and support.
- Strong leadership abilities and experience leading and motivating a variety of skilled employees ranging from high-level systems/network engineers to entry-level help desk technicians.
- Experience operating in a large organization with cross-functional, functional, or matrixed organizational structures.
- Experience with technical project management, specifically PMP.
- Familiarity with Virtual Desktop Infrastructure technologies (VMware Horizon View).
- Familiarity with Hyperconverged Infrastructure (Nutanix preferred).
- Familiarity with Forcepoint TTC or Secure view.
- MCP Dev Ops Engineer, MCP Solutions Architect, or RHCA/RHCE.
- ITIL Foundation Level certification.
- Experience in data center systems in both physical and virtualized environments.
Work Environment
- Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
- Fast paced, deadline-oriented environment.
- May require periods of non-traditional working hours including consecutive nights or weekends.
- Target Salary Range: $145,000 to $155,000.
