Conditions:
Part-time, for placement on lecturer candidate pool, contingent on availability of funds and actual staffing requirements. Day, evening, or Saturday offerings, on- and off-campus including but not limited to Early College, and/or synchronous and/or asynchronous online sections may be part of assigned workload.
- Conduct courses in Interdisciplinary Studies (Introduction to College) under general supervision.
- Maintain office hours of at least one hour per week for each course taught.
- Prepare required course outlines, syllabi, and reports related to teaching and student progress.
- Integrate teaching efforts with other instructors in the discipline area under supervision of the division chairperson.
- Collect student and peer evaluations and complete annual self-assessment of teaching effectiveness.
- Complete instructional assignments which may involve day, evening, early morning, weekend, outreach (such as Early College), and/or distance education classes.
- Adhere to community college principles and philosophy.
- Work effectively with a diverse student and community population in accordance with the Board of Regents Policy 4.207 III.F.1 and college practice of the open-admission concept.

Education (to include all degrees in this field), Family Resources, Human Development, Psychology (to include all degrees in this field), Public Health, Rehabilitation Counseling, Social Work, Sociology, and Student Services Personnel. All degrees must be earned from an accredited institution. If qualified applicants are not available, those not meeting minimum qualifications may be considered on an exception basis.
- Successful community college teaching experience.
- Successful multi-cultural teaching experience.
- Demonstrated success serving as a mentor, advisor, or team leader.
- Have supportive attitude toward student learning and be able to create a nurturing classroom environment for students of diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Demonstrated understanding of issues related to Native Hawaiians or other indigenous populations and the local community, including Hawai`i's unique economic, political, business, and cultural environment.
- Ability to use writing assignments and integrate teaching of appropriate thinking skills into course content as an integral part of students' classroom learning activities.
