NFI Massachusetts is seeking motivated and compassionate graduate students for clinical internship placements across our diverse community-based, clinic-based, and residential programs. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands‑on experience working with youth and families in a dynamic, mission‑driven environment.

NFI Massachusetts is a leading nonprofit human services agency dedicated to maximizing individual potential and supporting the promise of community living. We serve youth, families, and adults through trauma‑informed, strengths‑based clinical and educational services.

Internship Overview

Graduate‑level clinical interns will work closely with experienced clinicians and multidisciplinary teams to deliver meaningful services to individuals facing behavioral health, social‑emotional, and systemic challenges.
This is an unpaid internship opportunity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct clinical intakes, assessments, and documentation under supervision
  • Co‑facilitate individual, group, and family therapy sessions
  • Participate in team meetings, case reviews, and treatment planning
  • Engage with community providers and collateral contacts
  • Maintain professional and ethical standards consistent with agency policies
Eligibility & Requirements
  • Must be enrolled in a Master’s program in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field
  • Completion of relevant coursework in clinical practice and ethics
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to working with diverse populations
  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel to assigned internship site(s)
