Position Overview
Northeast Heating & Cooling is seeking a skilled and motivated HVAC Installer to join our growing team in Haverhill, Massachusetts. The HVAC Installer plays a critical role in delivering high-quality installations of heating, cooling, and ventilation systems for residential and light commercial customers. This position requires strong technical ability, attention to detail, professionalism with customers, and a commitment to completing installations safely, efficiently, and in accordance with industry standards and local codes.

Key ResponsibilitiesHVAC System Installation
- Install residential and light commercial HVAC systems including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, ductless mini‑splits, boilers, and related equipment
- Install and modify ductwork systems as required
- Install refrigeration lines, condensate drains, venting, and related system components
- Set and level equipment, including indoor and outdoor units
- Complete system start‑up procedures and verify system performance
Job Site Execution
- Read and interpret job specifications, installation notes, and equipment manuals
- Verify equipment and materials before starting installation
- Ensure installations meet Massachusetts mechanical code and manufacturer specifications
- Maintain clean and organized job sites throughout the installation process
- Protect the customer’s home or workspace using floor coverings and protective materials
Quality and Safety
- Follow company safety protocols and OSHA guidelines
- Ensure all installations meet company quality standards
- Conduct final system checks and performance testing
- Identify and correct installation issues before leaving the job site
Customer Interaction
- Professionally introduce yourself to customers and explain the installation process
- Answer basic customer questions about system operation
- Review thermostat operation and system functionality with the customer after installation
- Represent Northeast Heating & Cooling with professionalism and respect
Documentation and Communication
- Complete installation documentation accurately
- Take job‑site photos when required
- Communicate installation progress and issues with the installation manager or operations team
- Ensure all job notes and required paperwork are submitted at the end of each job
Equipment and Vehicle Responsibility
- Maintain company vehicles, tools, and installation equipment
- Ensure proper handling and storage of tools and materials
- Report tool or vehicle maintenance needs to management
Required Experience
- Minimum [Insert Years] years of HVAC installation experience
- Experience installing residential HVAC systems
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
Technical Skills
- Ability to install and configure heating and cooling equipment
- Ability to read wiring diagrams and installation manuals
- Knowledge of ductwork installation and system airflow basics
- Understanding of refrigeration systems and installation practices
Certifications and Licensing
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- EPA Certification (Type II or Universal preferred)
- Massachusetts refrigeration license or relevant certification preferred but not required
- Additional HVAC certifications are a plus
This role requires working in a variety of environments including residential homes, attics, crawl spaces, basements, rooftops, and mechanical rooms.
- Lift and carry equipment weighing up to 75 pounds
- Climb ladders and work at heights
- Work in confined spaces
- Work in hot, cold, and varying weather conditions
- Perform physically demanding work for extended periods
Typical Schedule
Monday‑Friday 8‑4:30
Examples may include:
