ALL ABOUT GENERAL MERCHANDISE - Experts of store process and efficiency who enable a consistent experience for our guests by ensuring product is set, in-stock, accurately priced and signed on the sales floor. The General Merchandise and Food Sales team leads inbound, outbound, replenishment, and promotional signing processes for all General Merchandise (GM) areas of the store. This team conducts inventory accuracy, merchandise set-up and maintenance and pricing processes for all areas of the store.
Experts enable efficient delivery to our guests by supporting pick, pack and ship fulfillment work.

- Knowledge of guest service fundamentals and experience supporting a guest-first culture across the store
- Experience in retail business fundamentals including department sales trends, inventory replenishment, and process efficiency and improvement
- Experience executing daily/weekly workload to support business priorities and deliver on sales goals
AS A GENERAL MERCHANDISE EXPERT - No two days are the same, but a typical day will include the following responsibilities:
- Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests as you are completing daily tasks
- Engage with guests to help solve their specific needs
- Thank guests and acknowledge their visit to Target
- Execute daily tasks to help achieve goals aligned with business priorities, including receiving products, restocking shelves, organizing the backroom, arranging merchandise, and putting up promotional signs for GM areas
- Operate power equipment to move merchandise or store fixtures if certified
- Execute price changes, merchandise setup and maintenance, and inventory accuracy as directed
- Learn how operational procedures affect inventory management, store profitability, and product availability
- Be knowledgeable about resources, products, and services available in the store to solve guest issues
- Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance
- Work in a safe manner; comply with safety policies and training; report hazards
- Support guest services such as back-up cashier and digital fulfillment processes (e.g., picking and packing orders or delivering pickup orders), while complying with applicable laws
- All other duties based on business needs

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to resolve guest questions quickly on the spot
- Attention to detail and ability to follow multi-step processes
- Ability to stay focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks

- Accept cash register operations as needed
- Climb ladders as required
- Scan, handle, and move merchandise safely, including lifting up to 44 pounds
- Flexible work schedule (nights, weekends, holidays) and reliable attendance
- Ability to work in varying temperatures and conditions while performing duties
- Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a shift
