Tube Manufacturing Technician
The Tube Manufacturing Technician is responsible for fabricating, assembling, and testing vacuum tubes and related components used in e-beam systems. This role involves operating specialized equipment, maintaining precision standards, and following cleanroom and vacuum fabrication procedures to ensure high quality tube production.
PrimaryDuties & Responsibilities
- Assemble and fabricate vacuum tubes and subassemblies following detailed engineering drawings and standard operating procedures.
- Prepare, clean, and handle components for high-vacuum environments
- Operate production ovens, and other precision manufacturing tools.
- Perform helium leak detection checks, vacuum integrity tests, and bake-out procedures.
- Inspect and test completed tubes for electrical and mechanical compliance.
- Document production data, test results, and deviations accurately.
- Work closely with engineers to troubleshoot fabrication issues and suggest process improvements.
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace in accordance with safety and contamination control standards.
- Follow all company safety policies, including handling of high-voltage and vacuum equipment.
- Production floor and cleanroom settings.
- Requires use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves and eye protection.
- May involve lifting components up to 40 lbs. and working near high-voltage or vacuum equipment.
- High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical certification in manufacturing, electronics, or mechanical technology preferred.
- 1–3 years of experience in precision assembly, vacuum systems, or electron beam/electronic component manufacturing preferred.
- Familiarity with vacuum technology, brazing, welding, and cleanroom practices.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity.
- Ability to read technical drawings and follow written instructions.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
