Position Summary
Magellan Aerospace, Haverhill is a world‑class manufacturer of precision machined aerospace components. We have an exciting opportunity for 2nd Shift CNC Grinder. The primary responsibility of a 2nd Shift CNC Grinder is to set‑up and operate CNC grinding equipment in a skillful and efficient manner.
Essential Responsibilities- Must be educated and trained to read prints and interpret engineering instructions required to produce parts consistently to close tolerances.
- Analyze and debug new methods.
- Perform calculations and use inspection equipment to verify that all quality requirements are met.
- Understand and follow the safety rules including keeping a neat and clean work area.
- Diligently perform all duties in a highly productive manner.
- Check and maintain oil and coolant levels on a daily basis.
- High School Diploma or Vocational School with hands on training at school or in a machine shop.
- Looking for at least 5 years of machining experience.
- Ability to perform with in tight tolerances and work within already established parameters.
- It is desirable to have some training in the use and understanding of metric to imperial inch conversion.
- Experience with tolerances of +/- .00015 & knowledge of surface finish and methods of inspecting them. The operator should be proficient in indicating.
