Per Diem Residential Counselor (Mental Health Services)

As a Per Diem ACCS Residential Counselor, you will provide direct support to people with psychiatric conditions and behavioral health challenges in a small group residential setting or an individual living arrangement. You will work with clients, families, friends, employers, and other support staff to transform their lives by building independence skills and improving quality of life.

Responsibilities include:

  • Administer medication under the MAP.
  • Implement treatment plans.
  • Assist residents with daily living activities such as household chores and cooking.
  • Provide transportation for outings such as shopping and doctor’s appointments.
  • Enforce compliance with safety and program policies.

Current Bonus Program (January 1, 2026 – June 2026): Employees are eligible for bonuses based on hours worked. The maximum monthly bonus is $150.

  • $100 bonus for staff working their first 24 direct care shift hours in a month.
  • $150 bonus for staff working their first 32 direct care shift hours in a month.
These bonuses do not apply to training hours. Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 direct care shifts per month; expected to engage in shifts at various programs.
  • One to three months experience in a human services setting or equivalent academic training.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid driver’s license (at least 21 years old, one-year license history, acceptable driving record). Ability to drive for Vinfen van or personal vehicle with adequate insurance.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, lift at least 25 lbs, use computer equipment, and assist clients with daily living tasks.
  • Strong communication skills and vision requirements (close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception). Physical stamina for a very active position.
Required Certifications
  • First Aid within two weeks of hire.
  • CPR within two weeks of hire.
  • MAP within 150 days of hire.
