About the Role
Haverhill Family Practice are looking for a salaried GP to work at our busy, town centre practice for 6 sessions per week, 3 full days on a Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
This position includes a duty session on a rotational basis, an e-consult session on a rotational basis, home visits as well as the usual face to face and telephone consultations. Administration duties include processing blood results and managing follow up actions, including tasks, referrals etc. The salaried GP will also have an allocated patient list.
Other duties will include;
- Practise evidence-based medicine, in line with national and locally agreed guidelines.
- Conduct patient consultations during the practice’s clinical appointment hours.
- Triage patients presenting to the practice in person.
- Check and sign repeat prescription requests.
- Check, manage and process patient test results.
- Prescribe in line with local and national guidelines.
- Refer patients to secondary/urgent care and additional interventions as appropriate.
- Manage long-term conditions and patients with complex problems.
- Promote healthy living strategies and give health and wellbeing advice, generally encouraging patients to follow a healthy lifestyle.

About the CandidateAll applicants should have the following qualifications:
- Fully qualified GP eligible to work in general practice in the NHS
- GMC registration
- Annual appraisal and revalidation (when appropriate)
- Be on the NHSE medical performers list
and experience/skills, including:
- Experience working in primary care/practice environment
- Ability to take work with integrated care pathways, protocols and patient specific directives
- Demonstrates evidence of continuous professional development
- Experience with clinical systems eg Systm One, Emis, Vision
Haverhill Family Practice is a Haverhill based GP Surgery offering a wide range of health services. With a CQC rating of Good and an experienced clinical team, they aim to provide a high standard of medical care and are always fully committed to patient needs.
Annual leave entitlement is 6 weeks per year plus any bank holidays that fall on your normal working days.
In addition, we offer one week of study leave.
