As the business enters its next phase of growth, this key senior leadership role would suit a commercially astute finance professional who enjoys being hands on, close to operations and actively shaping the future of a business and finance team.

The Role Reporting directly to the CEO, you will take full ownership of the finance function and become a key voice at Board level. You will combine strong financial governance with forward thinking commercial insight, supporting strategic decision making as the business evolves, scales and adapts. This is very much an on site role. The business is growing, changing and investing, and they need a Finance Director who is present, visible and embedded in the day to day rhythm of the organisation.

Key areas of responsibility:
Define and deliver the financial strategy, positioning the business for sustainable growth, profitability and long term resilience. Hold full accountability for financial control, reporting, forecasting and budgeting, ensuring accuracy, insight and pace across the organisation. Provide high quality commercial analysis and financial modelling to support pricing decisions, investment cases, contract negotiations and strategic initiatives. Act as a trusted adviser to the CEO and senior leadership team, contributing to strategic planning, business development, capital investment and potential M&A activity.

Lead, coach and develop the finance team, setting clear objectives and embedding a high performance, values led culture. Build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including auditors, advisors, banks, investors and key customers. Ensure financial systems, processes and controls are robust, scalable and aligned to support the next phase of the business journey.

About you:

This role will suit a Finance Director or senior finance leader who combines technical credibility with commercial confidence and enjoys operating with autonomy and influence. Hold a recognised accounting qualification, ACA, ACCA or CIMA. Strong commercial finance experience within a manufacturing, engineering, FMCG or distribution led environment. Either experience as a Finance Director within an SME environment, ready to step into a broader and more complex role, or senior finance leadership experience within a larger organisation and a desire for greater ownership, visibility and Board level impact.

Excellent financial modelling and analytical capability, with the ability to translate numbers into clear, actionable insight. The confidence to challenge constructively, influence senior stakeholders and support better decision making. A collaborative and empowering leadership style, with a genuine interest in developing people and building strong teams. High levels of systems and digital awareness, with strong Excel skills and experience working with ERP and CRM platforms.

What Is On Offer A salary of up to £120,000 plus bonus and benefits. A true Board level role with influence over the direction and performance of the business. The opportunity to play a central role in shaping the future of a growing, ambitious organisation. A visible, on-site leadership position within a business that is evolving and investing for the long term.
