Portfield School is seeking to appoint dedicated teachers to join our team from September 2026. Portfield School caters for pupils with a range of severe and complex learning difficulties, autistic spectrum disorders and sensory impairments. All teachers at Portfield School are required to teach differentiated lessons to reflect the varying needs of the children in their classroom. It is essential that teachers would have knowledge of Progression Steps, Early Years and Curriculum for Wales.

It is desired that teachers have knowledge of the ALN Transformation Act. All candidates are encouraged to visit the school and will be expected to teach a group of pupils as part of the interview procedure. Short‑listed candidates will be notified of the details. NQT’s are welcome to apply. The ability to converse in Welsh is desirable. Teaching staff at Portfield receive an additional SEN 1 Allowance of £2,838.00.
